Biography

William Scott's interest in photography was sparked in his youth, when his father built a small home darkroom. The mystery of the darkroom was intriguing and activities in it were never ignored.

Later, his desire to explore his environment was kindled by his family's regular trips to Ireland (the country of his parents' birth). These trips heightened his awareness of the power of the senses, place, and the unknown.

These formative experiences lay dormant until his interest began to focus in high school and manifested itself in the completion of a Bachelors Degree in Art from Humboldt State University in California. After graduation William moved to San Francisco, where he furthered his skills by working as a fine art photography printer and print finisher for five years.

Recently, he and his family have relocated to a small coastal community in Northern California where he can better pursue his personal goals in photography.
